About

A small project with one rule

No anonymous “research team”. HumanAverage is an independent project run by one person, built on one rule: no number appears on this site unless it can be traced back to data.

Why it exists

Search for a European average and you get a number. It is usually correct, and it is almost useless on its own — because one figure for a continent hides the thing you actually wanted to know: how far apart the countries are, and where you sit between them.

Answering that takes the figure for every country rather than the one for the whole, the honesty to say which side of it you fall on rather than inventing a precision the source does not support, and a check that the numbers survived the trip from the agency to the page. That is what this site does, and the method page shows exactly how.

Who makes it

HumanAverage is published and maintained by Simeon as an independent project. There is no medical team, research institute or editorial department behind it. Where software or AI helps prepare the work, the publisher remains responsible for the final check, the choice of sources and the decision to publish.

Editorial principles

  • We never invent a statistic. Every figure comes from a dataset we can point to.
  • We say which kind of figure a page shows, and never call something a percentile when the source published a single number instead of a distribution.
  • We show no percentile where no representative sample exists, however tempting.
  • We separate our own calculation from results published by others.
  • We describe what a comparison means, and what it does not.
  • We correct demonstrable errors and say when the method was last checked.

How it is paid for

HumanAverage is free to use. Advertising may eventually help cover hosting and further development. It currently carries no advertising code, and adverts would never change a calculation or a conclusion.

Corrections

If you can show that something here is wrong, that is genuinely useful and it will be fixed. Email firenature23@gmail.com. For a question about a specific result, mentioning your age, sex and the value you entered helps.

This site is an informational comparison. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not an assessment of your health.
